Our theme? Pintxos, of course!
The date was set for J's actual birthday and we thought nothing of it. A few days before the fiesta, I realized that we had a 1:35 am bus to catch the next "day." This meant that we had to pack for our Portugal trip, bring it to the party, stay for about 3 hours, and then leave for the bus station. Crazy, I know.
On the day of the fiesta, we finished class at 7 pm, ran home to pack, clean and cook, and made it to the party by 10 pm.
Everyone made and brought their own pintxo creations. I was really impressed with the amount of creativity everyone put into the pintxos. Everything was really tasty too.

This was my creation - sliced baguette, with a scoop of mushrooms, shallots and garlic sauteed in butter.
Yummy pintxos and bottles of vino always guarantees a good time.

About 3 hours later, J and I grabbed our travel packs and made our way to the bus station.
While walking, I thought to myself - with a pintxos fiesta as a prelude, our trip to Portugal could be nothing short of amazing.
And it was.
Stay tuned, many more posts are on the way. I'm determined to be caught up with my updates before I leave for Marrakesh!
